Dr. Sarah Sease recently relocated to the UAE to join The Psychology Center of Dubai, and work with the multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary mental health team. Prior to relocating to the UAE, she worked as a licensed Psychologist in Delaware in several different settings where she gained invaluable training in treating trauma, substance abuse, and interpersonal conflict.
Dr. Sease is passionate about helping couples through hardship, improving communication skills, and addressing concerns of an intimate nature. She has used her specialization in human sexuality to develop training programs and inform her therapeutic interactions. Dr. Sease has wide-ranging experience with various populations and concerns. She has worked with military veterans in managing trauma, individuals struggling with substance abuse in an inpatient setting, young adults at two university counseling centers, and inmates in a correctional setting. Through these various settings she has gained numerous experiences and trainings in various topics as well as applying her specialization to the unique needs of these populations.
Dr. Sease demonstrates care and compassion with each client. She seeks to create a safe and welcoming environment in which any and all concerns may be heard and addressed. She seeks to bring her expertise in human sexuality to any who may be struggling with issues including relational conflict, sexual orientation, sexual identity, and more. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and groups, and strives to provide the most appropriate interventions. Dr. Sease approaches therapy with mindfulness and focuses on values and helping clients live a meaningful life that aligns with their goals. Therapy is based on collaboration between both parties and is done with open and confidential communication and uses various techniques that are selected specifically for each individual client and presenting needs.
Educational and Professional Background
Dr. Sease obtained her Doctorate of Psychology from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University in Pennsylvania. The training provided at IGCP is a unique and integrated approach to the practice of psychology that emphasizes real-world experience. Dr. Sease has diverse training experience including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic interventions, Motivational Interviewing, and others. In addition, she received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and her Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University. Widener University has one of the most well-known and most educationally rigorous training programs for Human Sexuality in the United States. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Clemson University.
