Dr. Regan Haswell is a Clinical Psychologist who trained for ten years in her country of origin, New Zealand. Before relocating to Dubai in February 2015, she has had previous clinical experience working in both New Zealand at ProCare Psychological Services in Auckland and The British CBT and Counselling Service in London, United Kingdom.
Dr. Haswell is passionate about empowering people from all walks of life to thrive by making choices that enable them to enhance their personal strengths and repertoire of coping strategies during challenging times, thus fostering resiliency and the ability to move forward and live a richer, fuller and a more meaningful life. She has clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults in both the public and private sectors addressing various issues such as depression (including pre- and post-natal depression), anxiety disorders, panic attacks, specific phobias, grief and bereavement, stress management, sleep disturbances, relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, chronic pain due to medical conditions and helping people adapt to everyday life stressors.
Dr. Haswell strives to achieve a collaborative working relationship with her clients and tailors individualized treatment to meet their specific needs and motivational goals, while also helping clients to manage the pain that life inevitably brings. Dr. Haswell’s clinical training is primarily in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), however, she also incorporates a diverse range of other therapeutic models into her professional practice including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Positive Psychology.
Educational and Professional Background
Dr. Haswell graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) in Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PGDipClinPsych) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2009. She is a Chartered Member of The British Psychological Society (CPsychol) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, United Kingdom. She is a Full Member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (MNZCCP) and a registered Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. She is also currently licensed with the Dubai Healthcare City Authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
