Frozen Dinosaur Eggscavation

Skill Level: Intermediate learner (VB MAPP Level 2)

Description: Excavate a dinosaur from their frozen eggs using your trusty tools

Materials: Balloon, dinosaur, water, scissors, hammer, axe, screwdriver, drill, hard hat, warm water, cold water

Pros: This activity can be mixed up by freezing different animals and varying the containers for freezing (e.g., a frozen aquarium by freezing fish in a large tupperware container). For more advanced learners, incorporate a science element to the activity by adding salt to the ice to demonstrate that the freezing point will be lower.

Cons: This activity requires a preparation time of 3-hours minimum.
