1. Behavior Therapist

Job description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach learners the most developmentally appropriate functional skills as determined by each individual assessment and treatment plan
  • Work with individual learners or groups of learners within natural teaching environments
  • Responsible for daily upkeep of program materials for assigned learners
  • Receive passing scores on competency evaluations for instruction and record keeping
  • Interact with parents and others in a professional mannerInteract with parents and others in a professional manner
  • Protect and ensure the health and safety of each child in the Center
  • Assist learners with health and hygiene practices
  • Participate in the development of reports, treatment plans, and problem behavior reduction plans
  • Participate in staff meetings and mandatory in-services
  • Adhere to and maintain the integrity of the Carbone Clinic's guiding principles – see


  • Basic knowledge of the principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Communicate effectively – speaking and writing

  • Ability to lift 15 kg / 30 lbs. (to lift a small child)


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in behavior sciences, psychology, nursing, or education
  • Training in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred – for example, being a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
  • At least two years demonstrable clinical experience in a clinic or school setting using Applied Behavior Analysis – written references will be sought, please identify suitable providers of these references
  • Excellent English, spoken and written
